WHAT IS FRACTIONAL Co2 SMART PEEL ™️ LASER?
Co2 laser is a 10,600nm high-powered laser that uses carbon dioxide gas to create a beam of infrared light. The Cotra Plus is an advanced skin resurfacing technology that divides the laser beam into thousands of microscopic treatment zones, targeting a fraction of the skin at a time.Targeting Water:  The CO2 wavelength at 10,600nm is highly absorbed by the water present in the skin.

 

 1.  Microscopic Injury:  The fractional laser produces a grid of tiny, controlled wounds in the skin, instead of treating the entire surface simultaneously.

 

 2.  Stimulated Healing:  These micro-injuries signal the body to activate its healing response.

 

 3.  Collagen Production:  The healing process stimulates the production of new collagen and elastin—proteins vital for the skin's structure, elasticity, and youthful appearance.

 4.  Cell Regeneration:  The body generates new epidermal cells, which take the place of the damaged skin cells on the surface.

 

 5.  Fractional Approach:  By leaving "stamped" areas of untouched skin between the micro-injuries, the fractional method enables a quicker recovery time compared to older, non-fractional ablative CO2 lasers, which removed the entire top layer of skin.

WHAT DOES Co2 LASER SMART PEEL ™️ FEEL LIKE?

During a CO2 laser Smart Peel treatment with the Cotra Plus minimal pain is felt, you can expect to feel a slight warmth and prickly sensation, often described as tolerable, a topical numbing cream can be applied prior to treatment if you prefer no discomfort. The Cotra Plus is the latest technology with less unnecessary thermal damage. Post treatment the skin will feel warm, stinging, and tight sensation. Erythema (Redness) for 24-48hrs post treatment is normal and to be expected.

CAN FRACTIONAL Co2 LASER BE USED AROUND THE EYES? 

Yes, the Cotra Plus  CO2 Laser Smart Peel ™️ is suitable for use around the eyes and eyelids targeting early signs of aging like fine lines and crow’s feet. This laser is effective for eye firming, resurfacing, and improving the appearance of dark circles.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?

Treatment sessions depend on your skin concerns. 1-6 treatments are required for optimal results depending on what concerns we are treating.

The Smart Peel ™️ can be performed in 4-6 week intervals - suitable to incorporate in your skin treatment plan.

​

You can do a one off treatment of the Smart Peel ™️ - you will see overall skin rejuvenation, evening of skin tone and texture and enlarged pores will be resurfaced making them less visible and tighter in appearance. ​

Results are visible week of treatment with continual improvement. The Smart Peel™️ is suitable for all ages. Minimal downtime is experienced post the Smart Peel with amazing results.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER MY FRACTIONAL Co2 LASER TREATMENT? 
After a Co2 Smart Peel ™️ Laser treatment, clients typically experience redness, skin can feel like a sunburn sensation. Redness subsides with in 24-48hrs post treatment. Over the coming days tiny crusts start to form on the treated area and will feel like sand paper for 3-7 days - these will shed naturally post treatment. Be prepared for 24-48hrs of visible downtime (redness) and daily aftercare. Clients are overwhelmed with the results considering it has very minimal downtime.

  • Suffer from bleeding disorders

  • Are undergoing anti-thrombosis therapy

  • Have metal implants or permanent fillers in the treatment area

  • Are Pregnant or breastfeeding

  • Have an active systemic or skin disease which may hinder regeneration

  • Have a Autoimmune disease

  • Gold Therapy (used for Rheumatoid Arthritis)

  • Radiation or Chemo Therapy in treatment area

  • Accutane within the last 12months

  • It is your responsibility to inform your Therapist prior to your appointment if you are experiencing one or more of these conditions.
